What Audio Extractor does

Audio Extractor opens a workspace tab for extracting sound from video files. You select files and time ranges, choose MP3, WAV, or verified M4A, then download individual results or a ZIP archive. M4A is available when the browser passes the AAC recording check.

Files and session data

The workspace reads the selected videos, file names, file sizes and durations to show previews and create audio results. Source previews and completed results remain available in the current workspace session. Removing a file releases its previews and result. Closing the workspace ends that session. Files you download are managed by Chrome and your operating system.

Saved preferences

The extension uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local for the last selected format and bitrate, plus a schema version, under audioExtractor.v1. It also stores rating-prompt timestamps, dismissal state and response category under audioExtractorRatePrompt. These records let the interface restore preferences and control when the rating prompt appears. They persist across workspace sessions in this Chrome profile until the extension's stored data is cleared.

Analytics

The welcome page and the hosted goodbye and rating pages carry analytics used to count installs and removals by country.

Feedback, reviews and removal

Choosing one to three stars in the rating prompt opens the hosted rating page in a new tab. Choosing four or five stars opens the extension's Chrome Web Store review page. After removal, Chrome can open the hosted goodbye page. These pages are served for this product at the same address as this policy.

Optional feedback

If you send optional feedback after a low rating, or from the page that opens after you remove the extension, we receive the reason you picked, any comment you typed, the extension version, and the interface language. We do not collect your email, your name, an install identifier, or your IP address. Comments are delivered to us through Telegram so we can read them. Submissions without a comment are stored only as counts. We do not sell this information.

Children

Audio Extractor is a general productivity tool. It is not directed at children under 13.

Updates to this policy are published on this page when data practices change.
